About   Maria

I've been viewing the world through my lens for over 30 years.

My passion with photography started when I was a teenager with my first film camera.  In High School, I took every photography class that was offered. I then studied at the University of Maryland and took additional classes at Northwestern in CT and at BCC.

Originally attracted to nature and landscapes, I have since developed an interest in a more diverse range of subjects: the beauty of animals, architecture, and the quirky details often found when traveling. My inspiration comes from the beauty of a landscape, the joy of a child, the playfulness of an animal, or ancient architecture that Italy has to offer.  For me, photography isn't just about capturing a moment, it's treasuring the beauty I can see and being able to share it.

My goal is to share my visions with others so that they can enjoy my work.

“Everyone wants to understand art. Why not try to understand the song of a bird? Why does one love the night, flowers, everything around one, without trying to understand them? But in the case of a painting people have to understand. If only they would realize above all that an artist works of necessity, that he himself is only a trifling bit of the world, and that no more importance should be attached to him than to plenty of other things which please us in the world, though we can't explain them. People who try to explain pictures are usually barking up the wrong tree.”  - Pablo Picasso
